In this workshop, participants will explore the relationship between lived experience, dialogue, critical consciousness, and transformative action . They will consider what it means to begin with people’s actual situations rather than predetermined solutions; how educational and community processes can enable people to name and interpret their worlds; and how reflection can become connected with collective action. What you learn

Analyse central concepts within Paulo Freire's educational philosophy and explain the relationships between lived experience, dialogue, critical consciousness, humanisation and praxis.
Compare banking, problem-posing, and dialogical approaches to education and participation, and analyze their implications for knowledge, authority, power and learner agency.
Apply and critically evaluate Freirean concepts in relation to contemporary educational, professional, organizational or community situations, identifying their relevance, limitations and possible need for reinterpretation.
Develop and justify a contextually grounded proposal for applying or adapting Freirean principles in practice, identifying relevant participants, opportunities, constraints, and processes for continuing reflection and action.
