Circular Economy
Building sustainable and equitable local economies
Empowering communities and businesses to create sustainable, regenerative local practices
This workshop invites professionals, businesses, and sustainability advocates to explore and implement sustainable practices that promote ecological balance and social responsibility. It seeks to deepen understanding of the circular economy — an economic system that prioritizes regeneration, minimizes waste, and reuses resources — while empowering participants to contribute to sustainable transformations within their communities.
Participants will engage in problem-posing sessions where they can reflect on their own practices, challenge traditional models of consumption, and collaboratively explore alternatives. The workshop is designed to break away from passive learning, enabling participants to co-create knowledge through dialogue and active participation. Topics will include reducing material waste through innovation, designing products and systems for longevity and recyclability, and integrating circular economy principles into business models. Participants will also have the opportunity to share experiences and strategies that have worked in their own sectors, creating a rich exchange of ideas and a collaborative learning environment.
Our facilitators will introduce case studies of successful circular initiatives from local and global contexts, demonstrating how a circular approach can benefit both businesses and communities. By focusing on real-world examples, the workshop will highlight the potential of the circular economy to drive sustainability and economic resilience. Participants will leave with practical tools, strategies, and a deeper understanding of how to implement circular practices in their own fields, from local entrepreneurship to corporate settings.
The workshop aligns with the larger goal of creating a society grounded in sustainability, equity, and ecological harmony. Whether you are new to the concept of the circular economy or looking to deepen your commitment to sustainable practices, this workshop will provide valuable insights and encourage a collective drive for local and global change.
