Cultural Analysis

Reflective practice for change

This online course, based on Paulo Freire’s pedagogical approach, offers an in-depth exploration into cultural analysis through a series of ten interactive sessions. Each session examines different aspects of social structures, myths and symbols, enabling participants identify and analyze the cultural dynamics at play within various social groups. Learners will engage with concepts such as oppression, liberation, and the role of myths in shaping societal behaviors and beliefs.
The course employs a wide array of digital resources to examine conflicts, contradictions, and the symbolic meanings embedded in cultural expressions like art, rituals, and media. By the end of the course, participants will have completed a series of tasks that cumulate in the creation of a Cultural Analysis Workbook, offering a reflection of the theoretical insights gained and their applications to real-world scenarios.

This course is ideal for individuals and organizations interested in deepening their understanding of cultural dynamics using critical social analysis.
