Action Project

Strategies and planning for change

This course is for participants on the Intercultural Formation programme. It provides the basis for effective action planning, ensuring that projects are relevant and also respond to the unique needs of the community. Participants will set their collective action goals, whether their projects consist of research, analysis or direct action. The purpose of each session is to help participants develop a project from its initial concept up to its final implementation. Strategic planning is important as it emphasizes setting tangible goals, distributing resources properly and identifying any forthcoming problems that may arise.

It will explore typical ethical dilemmas through case studies and develop a personal code of ethics as a project guideline. Co-operation is a key element in the program; participants will learn how to negotiate and maintain linkages with local organizations, institutions or community groups to enhance their project's impact. There are detailed guidelines on practical implementation process which help participants manage their projects effectively, communicate with stakeholders and respond to changes as they occur. Participants will carry out reflective practice, where they evaluate their progress using experiences gained from the course. The final sessions focus on monitoring and evaluation, providing participants with the skills to measure their project's impact and gather insights for future action.
